Bollywood Dancing in Sydney !

Sydney’s highly regarded Mango Dance Studio has celebrated 7 years as one of Australia’s leading Bollywood dance schools.
 


Replicating dance studios in London, New York and LA, the school was established in July 2004 by Artistic Director Farah Shah, who herself holds an amazing Choreographic career for shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars (India),  Dance India Dance, Official Choreographer for the Australian MTV Awards for Artists such as Wyclef Jean and Dizzy Rascal and commercials for SONY INDIA and UNCLE BEN.
Mango Dance Studio now boasts 4000 students and has also been offering a VETAB accredited full-time Certificate IV in Performing Arts (Dance) Course.
To celebrate turning 7 years old, Mango Dance hosted a concert called “Mango Masala”. With 2 hours of non-stop dance entertainment and 240 performers from ages 6 to 55… The Mango show was a great success.
 
“What I love most is seeing so many ages, shapes, sizes and nationalities on stage. It makes me very proud”, says Farah Shah , Artistic Director of the School. “As a Bollywood Choreographer, I am really excited about the opportunities that Mango Dance has brought over the years. It’s been a fantastic journey so far.”
 
Mango has achieved enormous success and supplied 300 extra’s for Bollywood Movie “Chak De” with Shah Rukh Khan in December 2006.
 
Mango also sourced 20 professional dancers for Bollywood Movie “Hey Baby” with Akshay Kumar filmed in Darling Harbour and Martin Place in Sydney.
“When I started the first Bollywood Dance Classes in Sydney in 2004,
The Bollywood dance form struck a chord in the Australian psyche,” says Farah Shah.

 
Farah was also involved in the BBC's and SONY’s “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa: Dancing with the Stars”, along with famous Bollywood Choreographer "Farah Khan", who was one of the judges. Farah Shah was hired in the initial phase to define the concept and fuse Bollywood with Ballroom.
 
“It was my vision to create a Bollywood Dance School of a very high standard and an amazing name. I feel like over the 7 years I have achieved just that. It makes me very proud after all the hard work I have put in launching Bollywood Dance in Sydney and Australia”.
 
Farah was  intrinsic in developing the concept of Bollywood Corporate Shows and launched BOLLYWOOD SPICE in 2002. “We have performed for over 350 companies, bringing Bollywood dancing and classes to the corporate world”.
Mango Dance Studio has expanded to host 5 locations with classes for Toddlers, Kids, Youth, Adults and Ladies in Surry Hills, North Sydney, Neutral Bay, Parramatta and Alexandria …..stay tuned , more to come……
