Be part of history this year, as the first-ever, one day, around the world yoga challenge takes place on September 9, 2012. Starting in Sydney at 8am and hosted by Yoga Aid Foundation, the Yoga Aid World Challenge will unite yogis around the globe in an effort to raise $1 million for charity.

Kicking off at The Domain in Sydney at sunup, this 24-hour yoga relay will travel around the world and end at sundown in Los Angeles. The Yoga Aid World Challenge will bring together renowned teachers, studios and students in over 20 countries, creating a united community and raising money for charity.

Clive Mayhew, Co-Founder of Yoga Aid Foundation is calling on both experienced and first-time yogis to take part in this inaugural event.
“Even if you haven’t stepped on a yoga mat before, this is your opportunity to band together and raise more than $1 million for charities. We aim to raise more money through yoga than ever before with the 2012 Yoga Aid World Challenge,” says Clive Mayhew

“From Down Dog to Tree pose, this is your way of making a difference in the world and giving just a little bit back through your yoga practice,” said Mayhew.
Since the first Yoga Aid events in 2006, Yoga Aid has raised over $1.3 million for charities throughout the world. Unlike any other event, all expenses are supported privately – ensuring 100% of donations go straight to 15 humanitarian-based charities internationally.

Signing up to the Yoga Aid Challenge is easy; simply log on to http://www.yogaaid.com/.
